Angur Nahar Monty has more than two decade experience of print and broadcast journalism in Bangladesh. Currently, she is working at the Daily Kalbela as special correspondent in Bangladesh. Her expertism is in diplomacy, but she also writes reports on politics, governance, elections, human rights, and issues related to women’s and development. She also works to develop skill and to networking among women and young journalists as a trainer and facilitator. She is coordinating a platform 'Women Journalists Network, Bangladesh (WJNB)' which is focused on building capacity of women journalists as leader of newsroom and media organisations. She is the ever first female president (2016, 2020) and general secretary (2014) of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh-DCAB. Monty holds a masters in Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka. She also did postgraduate studies in Journalism and New Media at the University of Maryland, USA and Diploma in Development Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, India.
