About me
Matteo Garavoglia is a freelance journalist based between Italy and Tunisia. He covers social issues, politics and migration about North Africa for international media and he's a member of Centro di giornalismo permanente. The Centro di Giornalismo Permanente is a collective of journalists working on investigative and reportage projects that do not follow the rhythms of the news. Conflicts, human rights violations, migration, peripheries, gender violence, mafias and environmental crimes are the topics on which the CGP focuses its work. It organises dissemination events on journalism and affordable workshops. With the proceeds it finances reportage, investigations and journalistic fieldwork by members of the collective. The projects are characterised by two aspects: field research and fact-checking. It collaborates with national and international newspapers and works on projects with various formats (podcast, long-form and social media) on different geographical areas, from Italy to Eastern Europe, from North Africa to Latin America.
