About me
Asif Khan was instrumental in launching the world’s first open-to-all psychological well-being centers for journalists, a pioneering initiative by DW that provided counseling and support to hundreds of journalists over six years in Pakistan. As the Country Representative of Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie Germany for Pakistan, Asif has led numerous media development initiatives, with a focus on conflict-sensitive journalism, journalists’ safety, and the psychological well-being of media professionals. His efforts have also been central to the development of academic courses and the implementation of capacity-building programs for media houses and university staff, fostering sustainable media practices in challenging environments.
Asif has successfully designed and executed counter-radicalization media projects and developed contingency plans critical for strategic communication, as well as war and crisis reporting. His extensive experience and dedication have left a lasting impact on the media landscape, reflecting his unwavering commitment to enhancing the capacity and resilience of media organizations and professionals in some of the most difficult regions of the world.
