Ukrainian journalist who has been covering military operations and humanitarian issues related to the impact of war for the Western media for the past ten years. Since 2014, she has mostly worked as a correspondent in the east of Ukraine, and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion - on the entire front line. She specializes in news journalism from the scene and creating human stories for AFP (published on AFP under the maiden name of Yulia Silina) and UNICEF (UN) in Ukraine. She also created materials about Ukrainian refugees in Germany, Slovenia, and Moldova. In 2019, she collaborated with Bloomberg during the presidential and parliamentary campaigns in Kyiv.
In 2023, she worked in the team of UNICEF's global campaign "Children under Attack", which received an award at the annual Shorty Awards. She prepared stories of children and families affected by explosive weapons, which were published in many media around the world.
She has about 20 years of journalistic experience and recently started cooperating with the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine as a mentor for educational projects. She was awarded the badge of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For
service and valor".
