About me
Raiza is a social entrepreneur, a humanitarian aid service provider, an academic, a licensed mental health professional, and she has had a long career healthcare executive. In 2022, she left her career in the for-profit sector to start Reaching Across Borders (RAB), a non-profit organization focused on providing mental health services and gender economic empowerment to refugees globally. she has developed mental health programs in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Kurdistan, and Cameroon. Furthermore, she has consulted to the Government of New Zealand after the massacre in Christ Church. She has provided expertise and training to first responders and community leaders in New Zealand on the psychosocial consequences for a community after mass violence. Currently, she lives mostly in the Bekaa Valley, in Lebanon, where RAB has a center and she works with partners through the Middle East and Africa to provide services to refugees and the disenfranchised. Raiza is South African; she went to the USA to complete her Ph.D. and MBA.
