About me
Esther Kiragu is a journalist and communication specialist with over a decade of experience in storytelling, media relations, and content development.
In 2021, she was the editor of an award-winning digital storytelling series #KenyaWomenSeries, showcasing her ability to craft engaging narratives. She is also skilled in digital campaigns and has contributed to several successful international digital projects. Esther holds a Master's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's degree in Education, specialising in English and Literature from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, she actively empowers media, communications, and public relations professionals. This dedication led her to become one of the curators of the MCPR jobs network whose social arm focuses on mental health among Media Communication and PR professionals. In February 2024, MCPR hosted a session at the Africa Media Festival in Nairobi focusing on mental health and well-being among Creatives. This led to a partnership with Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (GSMC) to publish a book featuring real-life stories of East African journalists who have experienced mental health challenges in newsrooms.
