About me
Julie is the BBC Occupational Psychologist and subject matter expert for mental health. Her role is extensive, covering strategy development globally, support for highly exposed journalists, and psychological assessment and risk management to ensure the duty of care for contributors.
Julie has a wealth of experience in developing mental health and well-being strategies, advising on duty of care, providing second-line support to productions, and offering crisis management. She is also highly skilled in psychological assessment.
During her time at the BBC, Julie has developed innovative support for vicarious trauma for journalists and partnered with ITV to create pioneering training for psychologists working in media. She also developed innovative approaches to managing critical incidents, and mitigating moral injury, as well as designing psychosocial risk assessment specifically tailored for the media industry.
