About me
As the executive director of the National Press Club Journalism Institute (NPCJI), I lead a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to advancing the practice and values of journalism. I oversee the daily operations, strategic planning, fundraising, and events of the nonprofit organization, which provides professional development programs, training resources, scholarships, and grants to journalists and media professionals across the country.
With over 20 years of experience in journalism, media, and education, I have a proven track record of creating and delivering impactful initiatives that foster diversity and inclusion, innovation and excellence, and ethical and responsible reporting. I have also received prestigious awards from the Associated Collegiate Press and the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for my work as an instructor, adviser, and leader in student journalism. I hold a MA in Journalism from the University of North Texas and a certificate in Fundraising for Nonprofits from Boston University.
