Felista Wangari is a media practitioner and advocate for psychological safety in the media industry. With over 10 years of experience in journalism and communications, Felista has witnessed firsthand the consequences of neglecting mental health. This fuels her commitment to initiatives that foster safe and supportive work environments, which are essential for the sustainability of the media sector.
She has spoken on mental health at the Africa Media Festival 2024 and is trained in safety principles and practices by ACOS Alliance, equipping her to prioritise the psychological safety and well-being of journalists. She will be co-leading a session on building a culture of care and mental well-being in journalism at the Mental Health in Journalism Summit.
