The youngest generation of news workers faces extraordinary rates of workplace stress and burnout, with many choosing to leave the field rather than endure newsroom trauma. With journalism scholars, anewsroom leader, and a young journalists, this panel will offer research-based interventions for improving well-being and job satisfaction among Gen Z employees. Panelists will outline the benefits of trauma-informed newsrooms and provide management strategies for working with entry-level employees and recent journalism school graduates.
